Hedgehog Class had an exciting trip to Stansted Mountfitchet Castle, where they stepped back in time to experience life in Norman England. The children explored the castle grounds, discovered what it was like to live in a Norman village and learnt about the roles of the people who lived and worked there. They also explored the castle itself, identifying key features such as the drawbridge, moat, turrets and arrow slits, bringing their learning about castles to life. The children thoroughly enjoyed this hands-on experience and were enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge throughout the day.
We had a musical visit from Simon and Hilary. They played unusual string instruments and we sang along to their funny songs!
Owl Class designed a game "Throw the Cake" for the Wimpole Easter trail. It was built and painted following the children's design. If you would like to have a go, it is in the stable block as the final activity of the Easter trail. Wimpole staff have said it has been very popular! Well done Owl Class!

We were very excited to have Foxton Crafters, Mrs Mead and Mrs Smith, visit the children to make Easter decorations. Hedgehog Class made chick and egg decorations, Badger Class made cellophane egg decorations whilst Owl Class made and decorated 3D eggs. The tree will be in the school lobby until the end of term and then taken to St Laurence Church for Easter.
There were so many amazing costumes for World Book Day. Children wrote a story about going into a mysterious castle and then, in Buddy Group Assembly they guessed which non-fiction book was the favourite book of each member of staff.

Owl class entered the Beano's joke competition!
Hedgehog Class enjoyed a visit from Mrs Haith and Mr Daines from Wimpole Hall. Following the theme of the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, the children coloured a bird and made paper plate nests. The children then researched to find out more about birds we might see in our gardens. The nests and information has been put on display by the library and looks amazing.

The children of Hedgehog Class performed the nativity story at St Laurence Church, narrated by Year 6 children and with songs sung by the whole school. It was a lovely performance and thank you to all the parents, grandparents, relatives, carers and friends who attended.

The beautiful gingerbread decorations, made by Owl Class, are now on display in The Saloon at Wimpole Hall.
