Remote Learning

Learning programme offered via SeeSaw

Tues 5th Jan 2021

Teachers know that their videos and Zoom lessons were well received last time during lockdown so will include them in their programme of learning. We are asked to provide around 3 hours of learning each day but it is likely that many primary school children would find that too intense in a 1:1 home environment. Please make every attempt to break up the day in to small sessions to encourage sustainable working patterns.

The plan for most children (C2 C3 and C4) is to read, do some spelling work with Readiwriter and Mathletics each day. Work will be also be set for English and Maths each day as well as for one other subject. Miss D will offer more videos as more direct instruction is necessary, particularly for the teaching of phonics.

We have a proposed timetable for next week , when more direct Zoom lessons, either for the whole class or for small groups, could be offered by the class teacher.

Exercise books are available for home learning and these can be collected from the foyer. Passwords for Mathletics, and Home Learning Codes will be inserted in to the books for ready reference together with checklists for writing so that you know what the teacher expectations are for your child/ren’s writing.

A lending library is also available and as time goes on it may be possible to lend other equipment to assist you. I would however, urge you to take care with school books and equipment as cost for replacement due to damage or loss will be sought.
