Spring Term

In Class 1 this half term, we have been working towards making a class book about our bodies.  As part of this work, we have learned the names of body parts and discussed what is inside our bodies.    We have found out that there are over 200 bones in our bodies and that the combined name for all the bones in our body is the skeleton.  The children have thought about how our brains and our heart are protected and why they need to be.

We now all know that our bodies are amazing!  So, in Health Week, we have thought about how to keep our amazing bodies healthy.   We have discussed the need for a balanced diet, water, sleep, exercise, medicine and cleanliness.  The children particularly enjoyed meeting Harold on the Life Bus, and have thought about feelings of sadness and happiness.

We were lucky enough to have a visit from the Bike It Officer for Cambridgeshire who talked to us about safe cycling and have received a donation of 5 balance bikes for our use in school.  We had the opportunity to use these balance bikes during Health Week.

As a result of all this hard work, we have made a display on healthy eating and we have completed our class book which is now in the Book Corner for everyone to share.
