After School Activities
Children at Foxton Primary are encouraged to participate in extra curricular activities. These take place before, during or after the school day.
A wide variety of activities is offered from Year 1 upwards; some are run by external providers, and usually there is a cost involved. Others are run by volunteers and the teaching staff. The activities vary from term to term, and details will be given at the start of each term.
Regular termly school activities include:
Drama Club - For Years 2 - 6 Monday 8.00am - 8.45am. A drama club run by Premier Sport.
Dance - For Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 Tuesday 8.00am - 8.45am. A fun dance club for Key Stage 2. The cost is £4.00 per session and runs for 7 weeks during each half term.
Football Club - For Years 1 - 6 Tuesday 3.15pm - 4.15pm. Mixed age football club.
Fit Kids - For Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 Wednesday from 8.00am - 8.45am. The club consists of a selection of sports ranging from Basketball, Dodgeball, Football, cricket, Hockey etc. The cost is £2.50 per sessions and usualy runs for 10 weeks.
Gymnastics - For Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 Wednesday 3.20pm - 4.00pm and 4.30pm - 5.30pm. The club has two sessions and the children are split according to age and ability All gymnasts will be introduced to the basis of the discipline, as well as guiding the more advanced gymnasts through the new British Gymnastics Awared Scheme. The children will development balance, rhythm and flexibility. The cost is Session 1 £37 per term and Session 2 £42 per term.
Choir - For Years 4, 5 & 6 Thursday 8.15am - 8.45am. This club consists of singing songs from different genres, pop, classical folk and some choral pieces. The children will learn to sing in parts and will take part in performing music learned throughout the year.
Archery - Years 2 - 6 Friday 8.00am - 8.45am. Soft archery club run by Premier Sport in the school hall.
Cricket (Summer Term only) - For Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 (summer term only) Friday 3.20pm - 4.10pm. Children practice kwik cricket skills and take part in a kwik cricket festival during the summer term.
