Temporary Teaching Assistant Vacancy – term time only

The post is for: 30 Hours per week term time only

Required from 1st September 2026

Level 2 Scale 06 £25,989 pro rata (Actual Salary £20,114)

We are seeking to appoint a Temporary full-time Teaching Assistant to join our excellent team. The position will be reviewed at the end of the summer term 2027.

We are a small primary school with 3 mixed-age classes. We have a successful and dedicated team who have a direct impact on children's learning and provide them with skills for life.

We are looking for the right candidate to support a child with an EHCP on a 1:1 basis and to deliver a specific programme for the child. As well as this, we will be looking for a teaching assistant to support us in class.

We are looking for (Desirable):

• Experience of working within a primary setting.

• Experience of planning and running intervention programmes.

• A knowledge of working with SEND children.

• An active member of a whole school team.

The successful candidates will (Essential):

• Be caring, enthusiastic, dedicated and well-organised.

• Take advice from other professionals and apply this in their work.

• Be able to work well in a team. • Have high expectations for pupils’ work and behaviour.

• Be keen to develop their skills in supporting a child with SEND.
