This term, classes 1 and 2 went to Wandlebury to explore the topic of plants and habitats. We went through the forests, inspecting the trees and their leaves; we walked through meadows, comparing different grasses; and best of all, we got to splash in muddy puddles!
We looked closely at the leaves and flowers we found and drew them, paying close attention to whether they had symmetrical or asymmetrical flowers.
It was a wonderful opportunity to link all of our classroom learning to a real life, natural environment.
Because our topic this term is plants, we have been learning the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. Using the Talk4Write model, the children have learnt, innovated and rewritten the story. Their imagination and creativity makes for such wonderful stories! After writing a draft in their books, the children then used the app Book Creator to write and illustrate their own stories.
