Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
Most children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) will have their needs met by strategies in class, which they can access alongside their peers. For children with complex needs that cannot be met by the support provided in class, however, an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan may be required.
An EHCP can only be issued when Cambridgeshire Local Authority (LA) determines a child or young person needs the additional support of an EHCP after an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) has been carried out.
