Curriculum
Welcome to Hedgehogs!
The class teacher is Ms Lucie d'Heudieres (otherwise known as Ms D) and the teaching assistants are Mrs Sarah Daines, Mrs Jackie Von Bochoven, Mrs Katie Stanford and Mrs Louise Rose. Together, they teach a varied and exciting curriculum that has a mixture of inspirations, one of which is children's own interests.
As the class is composed of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children, the class has two separate curricula (National Curriculum and the EYFS Framework), which are taught through focus groups and circle times. This is done to better target the learning to the individual child's needs. The team very much believes in play-based learning, and will spend a lot of the day playing with the Reception children to develop their learning of key concepts through play, whilst offering a more structured learning environment for Years 1 and 2.
